Hallo Guenther,
Here is our simple story. Nothing special
About a year ago we were ready to start a first simple housechurch here in the east of flemish-speaking Belgium. Looking back we see how the Lord has prepared it all. Another family joined and a few friends as well. Every friday evening we enjoy in our fellowship around the meal at the table and after that we share, sing, pray and learn from Gods Word.
It is all very simple and we want to keep it that way.
Things are developping well. We even have to consider a second group already. We discovered that a lot more people are ready for this great adventure in the Kingdom of God. Fresh new times are ahead.
Personally I work fulltime as an evangelist and what I saw already is that the combination of housechurch and personal evangelism is ideal ! The traditional church has become and inaccessible fortress to many modern people. But houses are a much easier place to go to. Unbelievers just can't believe what they see and hear! This aspect alone is already enough reason to start housechurches.
Late August I could baptize my oldest son and our non-believing neighbors joined us around the swimming pool in our garden. No need to tell you that this was quite a new experience for them!
And isn't it great to see denominational differences melt away much easier than before! Now we are meeting christians that come from other churches on common ground. What a challenge for the years ahead. Let's learn from eachother. And let's encourage another to keep going, to keep things simple and to stay in daily contact with our Lord Jesus.
